Rendering the Future

With each new product launch, Owl Labs faces a challenge: how do you get potential customers to visualize the hardware pairings and configurations in realistically-sized and -outfitted spaces? Real-life (or even staged) conference rooms present some serious challenges for traditional photography:

  • The camera cannot extend beyond the four walls to capture a wider view of the room

  • The shoots are large undertakings and extremely costly

  • We’re limited by reality

So we turned to our 3D rendering agency, Fresco Design, to help solve this problem. I have managed Owl Labs’ relationship with Fresco for several years now and love how our partnership has blossomed; they even put together this case study about our work together under my leadership!

I led my team in visualizing these conference room setups by conducting competitive research, crafting an aesthetic vision, and ensuring technical accuracy. My creative direction was intended to inspire but also to inform; to draw users in to an aspirational-yet-realistic set of rooms where the vibes are high, the hardware works flawlessly, and the sky’s the limit for what your team can achieve.

This imagery appears across the Owl Labs website, in sales presentations, and in interactive enablement pieces. It is a consistent top performer in our social media and paid advertising strategies. Most meaningfully, it has been a career highlight to moonlight as an interior designer (albeit in the digital world).
